Willfully Overlook Known Evil - The WOKE Agenda

Introduction: Satan, the Prince of This World

The Bible identifies Satan as the “prince of this world,” a title that underscores his influence over the systems, ideologies, and powers that dominate a fallen creation. In John 12:31, Jesus Himself declares, “Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out.”

Satan’s authority is not ultimate—it is allowed by God for a time. Yet, during this time, his influence has permeated governments, culture, and societal norms, distorting the truth of God and leading people astray.

Today, we will examine how Satan wields his power through the systems of this world, particularly through deceptive ideologies that challenge the very essence of God’s design, and how we, as believers, are called to resist his lies and stand for truth.

1. Satan’s Temporary Rule Over Earthly Systems

When Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, he offered Him the kingdoms of the world, saying, “All this I will give you, if you will bow down and worship me” (Matthew 4:9). Satan’s offer reveals two truths:

1. He holds influence over worldly kingdoms and systems.

2. He desires worship and rebellion against God’s authority.

Government systems, cultural movements, and societal structures often operate under Satan’s influence. Paul calls him “the god of this age” in 2 Corinthians 4:4, explaining that he has blinded the minds of unbelievers to keep them from seeing the truth of Christ.

The enemy’s goal is to distort truth, sow confusion, and lead humanity into rebellion against God.

2. The WOKE Agenda: Redefining Truth and Challenging God

One of the clearest examples of Satan’s influence today is the rise of ideologies that challenge God’s authority, particularly those rooted in the WOKE agenda.

Denying God’s Design for Humanity

The WOKE agenda promotes the idea that people can define their own identity, even to the point of rejecting their biological sex. This teaching, often targeted at children, claims that they can be “born in the wrong body,” a direct contradiction to God’s Word:

• “So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” —Genesis 1:27

• “For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.” —Psalm 139:13

To tell a child they are born in the wrong body is to accuse God of making a mistake. It denies His sovereignty and undermines His design.

Satan’s Role in This Deception

Satan’s strategy is clear:

• Deceive: He twists God’s truth, convincing people that their feelings override their Creator’s design.

• Confuse: By targeting children, he creates a generation unsure of their identity, purpose, and value in God’s eyes.

• Divide: These ideologies pit believers against the truth, labeling biblical teachings as hateful or outdated.

Jesus warned in John 8:44 that Satan is the “father of lies,” and this cultural movement is one of his most destructive lies.

3. Government Systems Under Satan’s Rule

Throughout history, we see examples of governments and rulers acting in ways that align with Satan’s agenda, not God’s truth.

Biblical Examples of Corrupt Power

• Pharaoh enslaved God’s people and sought to destroy the next generation by ordering the murder of Hebrew infants (Exodus 1:15-22).

• King Herod ordered the massacre of children in an attempt to kill the Messiah (Matthew 2:16).

• The Roman government persecuted Christians, viewing them as threats to societal norms.

These rulers were influenced by the same spiritual forces of darkness at work today. Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:12 that our struggle is “not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, authorities, and powers of this dark world.”

Modern Examples: Pushing a Godless Agenda

Today, governments and global institutions promote ideologies that oppose God’s design:

1. Redefining Marriage and Gender: Legislation that redefines God’s covenant of marriage or promotes gender ideology is a direct rebellion against His Word.

2. Abortion as a “Right”: Legalizing the destruction of unborn life is a denial of God as the giver of life.

3. Censorship of Biblical Truth: Governments and organizations suppress biblical teachings under the guise of “hate speech,” silencing those who stand for God’s truth.

These actions align with Satan’s goal of creating a world where humanity worships itself rather than God.

4. The Church’s Role in Resisting Satan’s Lies

In a world under Satan’s influence, the Church is called to be the pillar and foundation of truth (1 Timothy 3:15).

1. Speak the Truth in Love

While Satan sows lies, we must boldly proclaim God’s truth, even when it’s unpopular. This includes:

• Teaching that every person is made in God’s image.

• Defending biblical definitions of marriage, gender, and life.

• Offering grace and redemption to those who have been deceived by these lies.

2. Pray Against Spiritual Strongholds

Satan’s influence operates through spiritual strongholds. Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:4:

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”

Prayer is one of our most powerful weapons against the enemy’s schemes.

3. Live as Light in the Darkness

Jesus called us to be the light of the world (Matthew 5:14-16). In a culture that celebrates sin, we must reflect God’s holiness, love, and truth.

5. The Hope of Christ’s Victory

While Satan’s influence is evident, we must never forget that his rule is temporary. Jesus Christ has already won the victory:

• “Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out.” —John 12:31

• “The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.” —1 John 3:8

One day, Satan’s reign will end completely. Revelation tells us that he will be cast into the lake of fire, never to deceive the nations again (Revelation 20:10).

Conclusion: Stand Firm in the Truth

Satan’s influence in this world is real, but so is the power of God’s Spirit within us. We must:

• Reject the lies of culture.

• Boldly proclaim God’s truth.

• Pray for discernment and protection.

Believers, remember this: “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” —1 John 4:4

The world may be under Satan’s sway, but our hope is in Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, whose reign is eternal.

Call to Prayer Against the WOKE Agenda

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today as Your children, redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Lord, we acknowledge You as the Creator of all things, the Sovereign Ruler of heaven and earth, and the ultimate source of truth.

Father, we see the deception spreading across this world, the lies that seek to undermine Your Word, distort Your design, and lead people into confusion and rebellion. We lift up the WOKE agenda and all its destructive ideologies to You. We ask, in the name of Jesus, that You expose and destroy these falsehoods.

Lord, we pray:

• That the lies being told to our children—that they can change who You created them to be—would be silenced.

• That the forces seeking to redefine truth, morality, and family would be disarmed and dismantled.

• That the agendas promoting sin and rebellion as “progress” would be brought to light and rejected by society.

You are the God of truth, and You have declared in Your Word that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We stand on Your promise and declare victory over these spiritual attacks.

Father, we pray for boldness for Your Church to stand firm against these ideologies, to speak the truth in love, and to shine the light of Christ in the darkness. We ask You to awaken leaders, parents, and pastors to rise up and defend Your truth.

Lord, protect the hearts and minds of the vulnerable, especially our children. Guard them against confusion and deception, and plant within them a love for Your Word and Your ways.

We also pray for those who are currently trapped in these ideologies. Open their eyes to the truth, Lord, and lead them to repentance and salvation. Show them Your love and grace, and remind them that their identity and worth are found only in You.

Father, we know that Satan is the prince of this world, but we declare that Jesus is the King of Kings, and His kingdom will have no end. We pray for Your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Let Your truth reign, Your light shine, and Your glory be revealed to all nations.

We thank You, Lord, for the victory that is already ours through Jesus Christ. Strengthen us as we stand in this spiritual battle, and may everything we do bring honor and glory to Your name.

Let us pray for courage to stand firm in a world deceived by Satan. Let us pray for our children, that they may know the truth of God’s design. And let us pray for the Church, that we may be a beacon of light in the darkness.
