The Eyes Are Useless When the Mind Is Blind
“They have eyes to see but do not see and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious people.”— Ezekiel 12:2
Introduction
Church, today I want to bring you a word that is urgent and deeply convicting. The title of this message is: “The Eyes Are Useless When the Mind Is Blind.”
You can have 20/20 vision. You can read books, recognize faces, see beauty all around. But if your mind is blind—If your heart is hard and your spirit is dull—Then your eyes are nothing more than windows in a locked house.
You’re looking out...But you're not truly seeing.
Spiritual Blindness Is a Real Disease
“The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.”— 2 Corinthians 4:4
Satan—the god of this world—has one assignment: to blind minds.
Not physically. Spiritually. Mentally. Eternally.
And sadly, it's working.
People scroll, swipe, binge-watch, and read... but never perceive. They witness sunrises, newborns, miracles, and still say, “There is no God.” They chase success but never find peace.
Their eyes are open—But their minds are in chains.
A Blind Mind Cannot Grasp Eternal Truth
“Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”— 2 Timothy 3:7
We live in the most informed generation in history. We build rockets, edit DNA, create AI, and code entire worlds...
But we cannot grasp the truth of Jesus Christ.
We’ve turned science into a religion, therapy into a savior, and self into a god. And in doing so, we’ve silenced the Holy Spirit.
Knowledge without Christ is blindness disguised as wisdom. It’s like reading a map but throwing away the compass. Like living on a sinking ship and calling it luxury because you can’t feel the water rising.
Let’s stop and think—it’s 2025.Twenty twenty-five... what?
Every document, every email, every calendar says what?2025 A.D. — Anno Domini — “In the year of our Lord.”
The world measures time by one moment: the birth of Jesus Christ.
Yet people still call Him a fairy tale.
That’s the blindness I’m talking about. They schedule meetings, celebrate birthdays, file taxes—all stamped by the life of Jesus—And then say He’s just a myth.
But let me ask you:
What myth split time in half? What fairy tale reshaped history, outlasted empires, and still transforms lives 2,000 years later?
You don’t base the entire global calendar on fiction. You do that when something real happened—When God stepped into time wrapped in flesh.
Only a blind mind can stare at a Christ-centered calendar and still deny Christ.
Jesus Came to Open Eyes and Minds
“Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.”— Luke 24:45
Jesus didn’t just open physical eyes—He opens minds.
That’s what He did for His disciples, and it’s what He still does today. But only if we let Him.
The problem isn’t that God hasn’t spoken. The problem is that we’ve turned off the receiver.
We’ve chosen comfort over conviction. Lies over light. Darkness over truth.
“This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light.” — John 3:19
And when you love darkness, you’ll start calling it “light.” You’ll call evil good. You’ll hear the name of Jesus and roll your eyes instead of fall to your knees.
Eyes That See Must Be Connected to a Mind That Believes
Don’t just pray for eyes that see—Pray for a mind renewed by the truth of God.
You don’t need more information. You need revelation.
The Pharisees saw Jesus with their own eyes, But they still crucified Him.
Why? Because their minds were blind.
Let me be blunt:
A blind mind can still go to church.
A blind mind can still lift hands in worship.
A blind mind can still post Scriptures online.
But a blind mind will not obey Christ—Because it doesn’t truly recognize Him.
Conclusion: Open the Eyes of Your Mind
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”— Romans 12:2
God isn’t just trying to fix your vision—He’s trying to renew your mind. Only then will your eyes be useful. Only then will you see the Kingdom, the cross, and the crown.
Today, choose to see. Not just with your eyes, but with your spirit. Let the scales fall. Let the veil tear. Let the blindness be healed.
Because the true tragedy is not physical blindness. The true tragedy is standing before Jesus on Judgment Day and realizing you looked at everything in life—except Him.
Call to Action
If you’ve been living with open eyes and a blind mind, This is your moment.
Ask Jesus to open your mind. To help you perceive. To help you believe. To help you obey.
Because the eyes are useless when the mind is blind... But when Christ opens your mind, You’ll finally see what you were born for.
