Introduction: Women Were Created with Purpose
Alright, let’s get something straight right off the bat—women are not second-class citizens in God’s kingdom. They’re not an afterthought, and they’re certainly not less important than men. God created women on purpose, with purpose, and for a purpose.
But in today’s world, there’s a lot of confusion about what that purpose is. Some say women should be just like men, leading everything and being completely independent. Others say women should just sit quietly and do whatever they’re told.
But neither of those are God’s design.
So today, we’re going to dig into what God actually says about women, their role, and why His plan is better than anything the world offers.
1. Women Were Created as a Perfect Complement to Men
Let’s go back to the beginning—literally, to Genesis.
Genesis 2:18 says:
"Then the Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper suitable for him.’"
Let’s pause right there.
God created everything in the world, and after each thing, He said, “It is good.”
The sun? Good.
The animals? Good. 🦁
The oceans? Good.
But man? Not good... alone.
Adam had all of creation at his feet, yet God looked at him and said, “Something’s missing.”
So what did God do? He created woman.
Now, let’s talk about that word "helper" for a second, because some people twist it. Some think "helper" means "assistant"—like Eve was Adam’s secretary or something. Wrong.
The Hebrew word for "helper" is ezer, and it’s the same word used to describe God Himself as our helper in times of trouble (Psalm 33:20).
So ladies, when the Bible calls you a helper, it’s not saying you’re weak—it’s saying you are a strong, necessary, God-ordained support.
Men need women. Not as competition, but as partners.
2. Women Are Designed to Support, Not Compete for Leadership
Now, let’s talk about leadership. Does God call women to be leaders?Yes, but not in the same way as men.
1 Corinthians 11:3 says:
"But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God."
This doesn’t mean men get to be bossy dictators over their wives. It means God designed the family with an order for leadership, just like He designed the church with an order.
And let’s be honest, ladies—do you really want the weight of leadership on your shoulders?God gave men the role of being the head, but He gave women the equally important role of support.
Think of it like this:
A king might sit on the throne, but a wise queen influences the kingdom.
A general might lead the battle, but a good strategist wins the war.
Just because you’re not the "leader" doesn’t mean you’re not powerful.
Think about Sarah, Ruth, Esther, and Mary. None of them were "in charge," but all of them changed history.
3. Women Have Unique Strengths that Men Don’t
Men and women are different on purpose.
Men are physically stronger, but women are emotionally resilient.
Men are logical problem-solvers, but women are intuitive and nurturing.
Men tend to be bold, but women tend to be wise in their words.
Proverbs 31:26 says:
"She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue."
Men may be called to lead, but women have God-given wisdom that helps guide and shape that leadership.
Think about it:
Eve influenced Adam. (Unfortunately, in the wrong way.)
Esther saved her people by influencing the king.
Mary raised Jesus, the Son of God.
A woman’s influence is powerful. But that power is best used inside of God’s design.
4. Women Reflect God’s Nurturing Heart
Women were created with a deep ability to nurture and care for others.
Isaiah 66:13 says:
"As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you."
Notice how God compares His own love to a mother’s love? That’s not by accident.
A woman’s ability to:
Love deeply
Encourage others
Bring warmth to a home
Raise and shape children
…is not weakness—it’s strength.
The world tries to convince women that if they’re not "in charge," "independent," or "breaking the mold," then they’re not valuable.
But God says, "You are valuable exactly as I made you."
5. Women Are a Reflection of the Church
Ephesians 5:25 says:
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her."
In marriage, the husband represents Christ, and the wife represents the Church.
The Church isn’t supposed to lead Jesus—it’s supposed to follow Him, trust Him, and receive His love.
In the same way, wives are called to follow, trust, and receive the love of their husbands.
But let’s be clear—this doesn’t mean women have no voice!
The Church doesn’t just sit silently—it partners with Christ.
In the same way, a wife is a partner in marriage, not a doormat.
This is why a man’s leadership must be godly—because when it is, a woman flourishes.
Conclusion: God’s Plan for Women is Beautiful
So ladies, don’t believe the lie that you need to be like men to be valuable. God made men and women different on purpose.
You were created to be a helper, not a competitor.
You were made to influence, not dominate.
You reflect God’s nurturing, loving heart.
You are powerful, valuable, and designed with purpose.
And when you walk in God’s design, you don’t just bless your family—you bless the world.
Let’s Pray:
"Father, thank You for creating women with purpose. Help us to embrace Your design instead of chasing the world’s definitions. Strengthen women to be wise, kind, and godly. Strengthen men to lead well so that women can flourish under their leadership. Let marriages, families, and communities reflect Your perfect plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
Ladies, you are a blessing. Walk in it!
