Day 11: Why did God Make Me? Understanding Your Purpose

Scripture: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10

Introduction

Today, you take another step on this journey—discovering and understanding your purpose.

God’s Redemption: Turning Evil into Good

Yesterday, you confronted the strongholds that have kept you bound. Now, it’s time to embrace the truth that God will use everything—even the darkest moments—for your good and His glory.

The story of Joseph is a powerful reminder of this truth. Joseph endured betrayal, false accusations, and imprisonment, yet he remained faithful to God. In the end, God elevated him to a position of great influence, allowing him to save lives and bring reconciliation to his family.

Genesis 50:20 says:

“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.”

What the enemy intends for harm, God can use for good. Your past does not disqualify you; it equips you. Every trial, heartache, and victory is a piece of the puzzle that God is using to reveal your purpose.

You Are Part of a Bigger Picture

Imagine your life as a puzzle piece. Alone, a single piece may seem insignificant, incomplete, or even confusing. But when placed in the context of God’s divine plan, that piece becomes essential to the whole picture.

Your life is not random. The blessings you’ve received, the challenges you’ve faced, and even the wounds you’ve carried are all part of a greater purpose. God is the Puzzle Maker, and He has placed you exactly where you need to be to fulfill His plan.

Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

This means you were created intentionally. You have a role in God’s kingdom, and your unique gifts and experiences are tools to accomplish that role.

Discovering Your Superpower

Your superpower is the combination of your natural talents and the spiritual gifts God has given you. Together, these are the tools God uses to carry out His purpose in your life.

What Is Your Natural Talent?

Natural talents are abilities you were born with. Some people are gifted artists or musicians, while others are natural leaders, problem-solvers, or caregivers. These talents often come so effortlessly that we overlook them or assume they aren’t special. But they are! God placed these abilities within you to serve His kingdom.

What Is Your Spiritual Gift?

Spiritual gifts, on the other hand, are divine empowerments given to believers by the Holy Spirit. These include gifts such as wisdom, teaching, healing, encouragement, and prophecy. When your natural talents align with your spiritual gifts, you discover your superpower—the unique way God wants to use you for His glory.

Practical Exercises for Day 11

1. Reflect on Yesterday’s Victory

• Take a moment to thank God for delivering you from strongholds.

• Write down any insights or breakthroughs you received during your fast. How did God speak to you? How did He strengthen you?

• Pray for continued clarity as you move forward.

2. Inventory Your Talents and Gifts

Take time to explore what makes you unique.

• List Your Talents: What are you naturally good at? What do others often compliment you on?

• List Your Spiritual Gifts: If you’re unsure of your spiritual gifts, pray and ask God to reveal them. Consider taking a spiritual gifts assessment for further clarity.

3. Ask for Feedback

Reach out to trusted friends, family members, or mentors. Ask them these questions:

• What do you see as my greatest strengths?

• How do you think I impact others positively?

• What moments have you seen me come alive with passion and purpose?

Write down their responses, and look for patterns.

4. Identify Past Challenges and Victories

God often reveals our purpose through our greatest struggles and triumphs. Reflect on the following:

• What challenges have shaped me the most?

• How has God used my past to help others?

• What burdens or causes ignite my passion?

5. Take Action

Choose one way to serve others using your talents and gifts this week.

• Volunteer in a ministry or community organization.

• Use your creative abilities to encourage or inspire someone.

• Share your testimony with someone who may need hope.

Moving Forward

Understanding your purpose is not something you accomplish in a single day. It is a journey of discovery, shaped by prayer, obedience, and trust in God. As you continue fasting weekly and seeking His will, He will reveal more and more of His plan for your life.

Psalm 37:23 reminds us:

“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way.”

Trust that God is establishing your steps, one day at a time.

Prayer for Day 11

Heavenly Father, thank You for breaking the strongholds in my life and setting me free. I know You have a purpose for me, and I trust that You are guiding me into that purpose. Reveal to me my talents, gifts, and calling. Help me to use them for Your glory and to serve others in love. I surrender my plans and desires to You and ask that You align my heart with Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Key Takeaways for Day 11

• Deliverance is a process—commit to fasting and prayer weekly to stay aligned with God’s will.

• God uses every part of your life—both the good and the bad—for His greater purpose.

• Discovering your purpose involves identifying your talents, spiritual gifts, and the lessons God has taught you through your experiences.

Today is about moving forward with faith and boldness. You are a vital piece of God’s kingdom puzzle, and He is ready to use you in extraordinary ways. Step into this new season with confidence, knowing that His purpose for you is good, perfect, and uniquely yours.
